🔴 ADOBE: Update Creative Cloud applications
Error #1: CCX File Not Recognized
📌 If you have any issues unzipping the installation file, please try using this free UXP Installer program.
REASON 1: Download Directory
When you download and unzip the CCX installation file, it must be located on the same drive that Adobe Photoshop and Creative Cloud App are installed on your computer to successfully install the panel. The reason for this is that Adobe will only allow CCX installers to search for the applications to run in the directory that it is currently stored on.
So, the CCX installation file must be located on the same drive that your Adobe Photoshop and Creative Cloud App are located. Ideally, from the root folder on the C: drive on a Windows PC and from the Downloads folder on the Macintosh HD on a Mac.
After the panel is installed, you can move this file anywhere you like to store it.
REASON 2: Installer Agent
If nothing happens when you double-click on the CCX file, or the file is not recognized or can’t open, follow these steps:
For Mac users:
Please right-click on the .CCX file, choose Open With, and then locate this file:
Macintosh HD ▸ Library ▸ Application Support ▸ Adobe ▸ Adobe Desktop Common ▸ UPI ▸ AdobePluginInstallerAgent
Select the AdobePluginInstallerAgent file and press Open.
Mac OS Monterey 12.4 and later:
Macintosh HD ▸ Library ▸ Application Support ▸ Adobe ▸ Adobe Desktop Common ▸ RemoteComponents ▸ UPI ▸ UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent ▸ UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent.app
Select the UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent.app file and press Open.
For PC users:
Please right-click on the .CCX file, choose Open With ▸ More Apps, scroll down to look for another app on this PC, then locate the file here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common\UPI\AdobePluginInstallerAgent
Select the AdobePluginInstallerAgent file and press Open.
Error #2: The Photoshop Script File Isn’t Working
Set reading and writing permissions for the Preset folder on your computer to be able to install our custom Brushes, Tool Presets, and Actions.
You must have permissions set to READ & WRITE in the Presets folder.
For Mac users:
Locate ~/Applications ▸ Adobe Photoshop 2022 ▸ Presets and right-click on the folder and select Get Info:
- Click on the padlock icon at the bottom of the window to unlock, then enter your password;
- Set permissions to Read & Write for everyone;
- In the bottom left corner of the window, click on the little circle with dots (as shown in the screenshot 👉);
- Click on Apply to enclosed items and press Ok to apply permissions to all the enclosed items.
Now, you can proceed with the activation of our custom Brushes, Tool Presets, and Actions either using the script file to place them automatically or manually.
Error #3: Creative Cloud Error Doesn’t Recognize The File Type
Just like in the Error #1 mentioned above, in order to successfully install the new UXP panels, be sure to run the installation file (.CCX) from the same drive that Adobe Photoshop and Creative Cloud App are installed on.
Ideally, from the root folder on the C: drive on a Windows PC and from the Downloads folder on the Macintosh HD on a Mac.
Error #4: Creative Cloud Error Code 2
This file system error is usually a permission error or is related to disk space. Free some space on the disk, then, relaunch the Creative Cloud desktop app and try installing the RA UXP panel again. If this doesn’t work, restart the Creative Cloud desktop app and try installing the RA UXP panel again.
Error #5: Creative Cloud Error Code 9 and 10
Check the Internet connection, relaunch the Creative Cloud desktop app and try installing the RA UXP panel again.
Error #6: Creative Cloud Error -2 and Other Codes
When you try to download, install, or update a Creative Cloud application, and receive an error message it indicates a failure to complete the download. Find your error number and its recommended solution here: Error downloading or updating Creative Cloud apps
If the error you received is not listed here, see the Network and connectivity troubleshooting section of this document.
If you are still experiencing errors in the Creative Cloud App, please check for updates. Go to the Help menu at the top and click Check for Updates.
If there are no updates available then uninstall the Creative Cloud app then restart your computer. Re-install Creative Cloud and that should fix the problem.
